Just some old poems!!!

Ok, so I was looking through one of my old journals and fell upon a few old poems... So, I decided to post them and see what ya'll think... I mean if your on my facebook then I'm sure you've seen them a while ago, but let me know..... I need your feedback folks!!!




First poem is:

I PROPOSE A TOAST

I'd like to propose a toast to all of us that survived life thus far. Yes life! Through all the pain and heartache, we've managed to prevail. Ha! Stand proud! Many aren't strong enough to realize their true potentials but we can show them. We can tell them stories of lost lives and bad choices. We can bless them with the knowledge of how to come back from a life full of wrong-doings. Speak Loudly! Allow those that cover their ears when profound words are spoken to hear the truth behind your statements. Make them understand that life will go on. Draw them into your hearts.

My first comment goes out to those that search for a love that is lost amongst the clouds. Its ok! We cannot assume that love will flow out of reckless circumstances. Many of us get absorbed by the sweet dialogues that captivate our thinking. Then we become frantically obsessed with holding onto such a feeling of completeness when we are anything but complete. Raise your glasses, this toast is for you. For your resocialization into a world of understanding. I feel your pain and I comprehend your actions. Know now that today is the day where your life must change for the better. The love you need comes from God!

My next comment goes out to those with a broken heart. Feel free to allow others to mend that which has been unmistakenly broken. Those of us that share this commonality can accept the reasoning behind certain justifications. Because of the shattered pieces of our hearts, we find fault in every new relationship. We convict those that we love of crimes that they would never committ. We are hurt, and we have made up in our minds, subconciously, to never tolerate anyone coming close to hurting us again. I say to you, put down those walls that shut others out. Stand firm in your belief that God will bless you with more than you can imagine. Raise your glasses, this toast is for you.

Finally, I raise my glass for myself. For fighting with insecurities that would keep me from registering a true feeling of love. For never wanting to go down a path of destruction in another relationship. I toast to a greater understanding of why people say that "patience is a virtue" and why we must trust in God to keep us away from harm. My own experiences have altered the way I approach life; mind, body, and spirit. Now my perception is clearer. So for all of us who have become better people due to the storms we had to endure in our lives, this toast is for you!!!

Second Poem:

His Recipe

He stirs in a mixture of lust and passion, only to stimulate my latest urges. He knows that I crave the kind of tastes that land on his tounge alone. I cant hide the incredible force that pulls us in one direction, closer together. He understands that I long for his touch, moving strong hands all through my essence. He feels that I am lonely without his whispers, uttering low under his breath those three words that only a woman would quiver to hear. He drives ever nerve in my body completely insane with a slight knowledge of his presence and I am captivated by how well he knows how to take over my existance. He seems to formulate in his mind each move before he makes it as if he already knew my reaction. My heart is heavy when he turns to walk away, because somehow I wonder if I'd ever know his touch again. He sillouette feels my warmth as our distance grows with ever step in the opposite direction. I sit in disbelief that I dont know him. I dont know what makes him uncontrollable when his love is near mine. I cant understand why he grasps the pillows before releasing his pent-up repressions. I thought I knew how to make him mine but I only realized how to make him feel good. How to make him a man. Yet he figured me out, quickly. Or maybe he just knew from experience what a woman would enjoy. Maybe he knew that we love to be held, so thats why he took me in his arms. Or maybe he knew where to mix in his recipe, knowing that I would never turn him down. Unfortunately, he knew how to get in my head and

make me think this was our recipe when in actuality there was no me, just him.

Third Poem:

Unwritten Confession (My fav)

I continued to stare at this blank piece of paper, expecting the words to appear.With a fully confused heart, I anticipated a free flowing array of words yet my hand never moved.

Everything that needed to be said was trapped inside my thoughts and I couldn't for the life of me share how I truly felt.

I needed to express how you made me feel without ruining what we had.

My love for you has grown far beyond just a friendly matter; however, you'll never comprehend.

Because when my focus is glued on you, my entire world falls still.

Lost in a fantasy land full of our sensual embrace, I never wanted to come to reality.

Arms holding, hands caressing, lips kissing the essence I posses, I imagined our steady growth.

I saw your face in my dreams and my heart skipped a beat.

But no words would escape from my thoughts to my hands allowing my pen to finally break the emptiness on this blank piece of paper.

So I continued to stare, praying for a release to take place.

Contemplating what must be done the next time I am in your presence, I began to silently weep.

Each tear told a story as they brought life to this unwritten confession.

And before I knew it, entire paragraphs were forming through the tsunami-like waves that consumed my composition.

This hidden proclamation was destined for your eyes only, however, your soul must interpret it.

So to you I gave this blank peice of paper that declared my mystified thoughts.

And with its obvious desolation, I was finally satisfied knowing my feelings were felt though they were apparently unwritten.

All my oldie but goodie poems from back in my writing days... I have been writing alot lately so hopefully I'll have a few more poems to post soon enough.

B.E.T. Awards!!! HAHAHAHA

So, I dont know what you did last night but I was up watching the B.E.T. awards. All I can say is, it was alright for such a great last minute change of plans. With the passing of the Great Michael Jackson, B.E.T. decided to turn the whole show into a tribute to him. It was all just so thrown together though. I mean dont get me wrong, I love my black people and Michael but the show was just not what I thought it would be. Or then again, it was EXACTLY what I thought it would be.

The camera guys were all over the place, whoever did the editing was off, and of course my black people showed their damn color. But not all things were bad. Keri Hilson looked great, Monica's hair was on point, Amerie looked great, Taraji did her thing and of course Janet Jackson came out looking incredible.

And lets not forget the tribute to the OJays. Tyrese, Johnny Gill, and Trey Songz definitely represented and oh my, MAXWELL!!!!! MAXWELL MAXWELL MAXWELL... He did that with the whole falling wings stuff... LOVED IT!!!!

Oh and what was up with Lil Wayne singing with Drake about "I wish I could {love} every girl in the world" with 10 year olds on stage... Come on dude, are we trying to be the new R. Kelly???

Jamie killed it with his Moonwalk and Michael Tribute

Alicia Keys was stunning as she received the Humanitarian Award along with Wyclef.

Monica and Keyshia Cole sang Trust and dominated the stage.

Beyonce stole the show with two awards and a gorgeous rendition of Ave Maria

The fellas, Tyrese, Trey Songz, and Johnny Gill did a great job as they paid tribute to the O'Jays.



LeBron James won the award for Male Athlete of the Year.

Neyo and Jamie Foxx killed their version of Michael Jackson's I'll be There

Though it was tough, Janet Jackson came on stage to thank the fans for their love and support as the family is greiving their awesome loss.

R.I.P MICHAEL JACKSON

So, I know I have really "backslid" when it comes to writting blogs. I guess I've been keeping busy but alot has happened in my absence. The legend, Michael Jackson, has passed away after suffering from a heartattack.

I must say that when I heard this news, I was completely devistated. And everyone in the world, from Cali to London, are in morning. This has to be one of the greatest losses in the History of music, right along with the death of James Brown. I just am in disbelief. I know that everyone will remember the exact place and time when they heard of this tragic news. I was in the car, leaving the dog groomers, blasting 97.9 the box. The radio came on in mid sentence as one of the radio personalities asked for everyone to keep this fallen man in their prayers. The entire time they were playing "Beat it" in the background and it didnt dawn on me who they were talking about. And now, on this 25th day of June, Michael Jackson has left this world and went on to Heaven. His family and friends will be in our prayers. But remember that we must celebrate the greatness that was Michael Jackson and understand that he is in a better place and that our lives and music in general would be nothing without him.

In MEMORY OF MICHAEL JACKSON 1958-2009 50 years young, we loved you when you sang your ABC's and we will always Remember the Time when you stole our hearts.

Let's Recap!!!

Ok, so I've been M.I.A. for a minute but I'm back and will be posting new blogs on the regular. (just got big props on it so I'm feeling really good!!)

So far alot had been going on in my life, in the world, and in through the internet!! Just to catch everyone up that might have been underneathe a rock like me, I'll break it all down.

1.) THE ROCKETS BEAT THE LAKERS IN GAME ONE!!!! (enough said!!) I mean I'm from Houston but I'm not just a hard out Rockets fan. But seriously, I expected a lot more from the Lakers. SHOW SOME HEART BOYS!!!

2.) OPRAH IS GIVING OUT FREE CHICKEN!!! Now if you missed that let me say it again, OPRAH IS GIVING OUT FREE CHICKEN, YEAH FFFFRRRREEEEEEEEE CHICKEN!!! This is the most niggerish mess ever.. To help KFC promote their new Kentucky GRILLED Chicken, Oprah decided to let the people try it for free. Got to www.oprah.com and download the coupon. But I will warn you, I heard that grilled mess was gross, havent tried it yet but ITS FREE!!!

3.) X-MEN ORIGINS WAS THE SH*T!!!! For all of you haters out there that said X-Men Orgins was lame, YOUR LAME!!! (enough said)

4.) TWITTER IS A TRAP!! Just like when Facebook first hit the scene and people couldnt seem to get off it, the same is true for Twitter fanatics. Its crazy I know, but if your nosey as hell, like most of us, it is a good way to get in peoples business. Just remember that everyone can see what you write on Twitter, EVERYONE!!!!

5.) THE SOLOIST DIDNT MAKE OVER 10 MILLION!!! Poor babies, poor babies. I'm just sad for Jamie Foxx. This movie was supposed to be a serious hit but people dont really want to see depressing movies about homeless people who, at the end of the movie, are still homeless!!!

6.) BEYONCE CANT ACT BUT OBSESSED WAS STILL GOOD!!! I'm sorry, I love Beyonce but she needs to get some more acting classes under her belt. Dont get me wrong, the movie was good but damn B some of your lines were way too stiff. Honestly, the white girl out did you homie!!!

What would YOU do??

Ok, so just in case you havent been watching sports center lately, let me put you up on game. (pun intended)


On Saturday, February 28th, four footballers decided to go on a little fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico. At some point around night fall that evening, the boat that these men were commandeering lost its balance and turned over somewhere in the middle of the Gulf. Amongst the men were Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper, Detroit Lions free agent Corey Smith, former USF player William Bleakley, and former USF player Nick Schuyler. As time went pass, the families of these individuals got worried. The Coast Guards went on a search to try to recover the missing me. A day went by with no results, however, on Monday afternoon, Nick Schuyler was found hanging onto the engine of the turned over boat. Luckily for Nick, he wasnt immersed in the water and he had a lifevest on. When Schuyler was found, doctors were in fear that the remaining men, if not found, would be suffering from extensive cases of hypothermia. As Tuesday rolled around with no new results as to the whereabouts of the other three men, the Coast Guards decided to call off the search.

After the Coast Guards announced that they would have to call off the search for the missing me, the families of both Cooper and Smith decided to take matters into their own hands. Here are pictures of Corey Smith and Marquis Cooper:

Black History Month: The NYPOST and Murdoch

Ok, so this morning I woke up and turned on the radio to listen to the Tom Joyner Morning Show, a part of my daily routine. Needless to say, Tom and the gang were going on and on about a new political cartoon on the cover of The New York Post. They were discussing the issue with Rev. Al Sharpton who said this about the cartoon:

"The cartoon in today's New York Post is troubling at best given the historic racist attacks of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys. One has to question whether the cartoonist is making a less than casual reference to this when in the cartoon they have police saying after shooting a chimpanzee that "Now they will have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill."
"Being that the stimulus bill has been the first legislative victory of President Barack Obama (the first African American president) and has become synonymous with him it is not a reach to wonder are they inferring that a monkey wrote the last bill?"

So, not only did I feel a sense of outrage just hearing the issues behind the cartoon, I had to see it myself, just to understand where they were coming from. And here it is, the picture that is causing so much anger and hate toward the New York Post:

Take a very close look at it. Read that caption, spoken by one white cop to another white cop. Notice how he makes these comments after he shoots the monkey. Now for any African American, this picture should ultimately piss you off!!! We have struggled for so long just to feel like an equal and even at a time when a Black man becomes the President of the United States of America, we still have to suffer. This is INSANE!!! Not only was a monkey, a racist attack that is synonomous to African Americans, used to either represent our President or Demicrats alike, but the caption stating that "someone else will have to write the stimulus bills" is a complete outrage!!! This artist, Sean Delonas, is way out of line. The sad thing is, some people are so blinded by the years of racism that they cant see the wrong in this drawing. I hate to think that this is what has come of the world and of media. Take notice to what The NY Post, Fox TV Network, 20th Century Fox, and the HarperCollins Books all have in common. They are all owned by billionaire Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch is a hard-out Republican and he only hires Republicans to work for him. And besides a few sports comentators, all of his Fox News room is swimming in Repbulican losers!!!! Seriously though, this issue is real and its not going away, no matter who our President is....

WE NEED TO BOYCOTT THE NEW YORK POST

and make others aware of what is going on around us. We can just sit back and let people call us MONKEYS!! I dont know about you but I am not a monkey, my family arent monkeys, my friends arent monkey and my President damn sure isnt a MONKEY!!! So, in order for our voices to be heard, we have to do something.

NIP/TUCK is what that is!!!

Ok, so I dont konw about ya'll but NIP/TUCK is my show!!!! I love it. I have to applaud my mom for putting me up on the show and it hasnt let me down yet. The twists in the story line, the intensity of every character, and of course, all the surgeries!!! This show is simply amazing. I used to be a Grey's Anatomy junkie but now, its all about NIP/TUCK!!!

So here's a little background just in case you're not an avid watch, which you absolutely should be!! Ok, earlier this season, Sean and Christian departed Miami for Los Angeles seeking a fresh start for McNamara/Troy in a new city. Convinced that celebrity status can bring them more new patients than their medical reputations, the surgeons became medical consultants for a television drama. Sean was met with early success under the Hollywood spotlight, only to become the victim of a deranged fan. Despite his own attempts to gain notoriety, Christian found himself living in Sean's shadow for the first time in his career. As season five continues, McNamara/Troy faces an unexpected, serious medical crisis. Christian decides to settle down with one woman and Sean discovers a new love in a moment of extreme vulnerability.

Poor Babies!!

Ok, so unless you were oblivious to what took place last night, let me put you up on game.. Last night was the 2009 Grammy Awards and it was a wonderful event. The Who's Who in the Music world, Fashion world, Movie world and all worlds combined were in rare form last night. But one could only notice that two big names in the game were missing. And no, it wasn't Beyonce and Jay-Z, but two other young headliners!!! THAT'S RIGHT!!! Chris Brown and Rihanna were missing from last night festivities. It seems that the two love birds had a heavy fight yesturday afternoon, leading to Chris being arrested!!! SAY IT ISNT SO!!! Sorry ladies, but Chris Breezy was arrest yesterday for what people are saying was "domestic violence". What was funny to me is they (meaning reporters) have yet to say whether he was arguing with Rihanna or not. They just keep saying "the female singer". But come on folks, who are they kidding!! We all know that RiRi and Breezy got into it and he hit her or something. It would have to be something major for the BOTH of them to not go to the Grammy's. THE GRAMMY'S!!! Lets get real for a second!! And I feel bad for them. I mean its not bad enough that they have to live their lives in front of the camera all day but to try to have a relationship too, has to be hard!!! I just wish they would come out and say something about it, SOMETHING!!! Now stories have been circulating that Rihanna gave Chris an STD and that this may have been the basis of their initial arguing. Check out this news report on the situation:





I dont know the entire details but needless to say, Chris and Rihanna better figure it out, otherwise this could get messy, literally!!! So what's next for America's sweethearts?? Hopefully, some anger management classes and a few shots!!!

Black History Month: Was Abe Lincoln a racist?

Ok, so throughout the years, people have continously shown their love and devotion to Abraham Lincoln, the only white man who, back in the day, seemingly loved black people. We all know him to be the man that freed the slaves, but was Lincoln himself a racist? Or would the racism we know now be considered the same back then?? Well according to black American aurthor, Lerone Bennett, there is substantial historical evidence supporting the theory that Abraham Lincoln was, in fact, a devoted racist harboring a life-long desire to see all black Americans deported to Africa. Bennett's newest novel Forced Into Glory: Abraham Lincoln's White Dream is full of angry undertones, like he felt brainwashed by this theory of Abraham Lincoln.

All of this is crazy to me but I can see where Bennett is coming from. But like I mentioned before, at this time in history, would Lincoln really be considered a "racist" or just a white man trying to do something for the slaves. I mean, he was a white man and that's all he knew to be. You decide. Was Lincoln a racist????

ITS OFFICIAL!!!

Ok, so I know that everyone knows what went down yesterday!! Seriously, I know you do but just in case your dumbass was oblivious to the spectacular event that took place yesterday morning, let me recap it for you:

BARACK OBAMA WAS SWORN IN AS THE 44th U.S. PRESIDENT!!

Oh, now you remember!! Shut up... This was a huge day. So many weeping faces and so many shouts for joy. My grandmother was so overcome with joy that she could barely speak and thats something serious. I dont think some of the people in our generation really know what happened yesterday. When it comes to fighting everyday for the respect that whites have or to having to sit at the back of the bus by force not by choice. Or even having to drink, eat, and shit in a separate entity then whites, this is monumentous!! This event was bigger that Barack Obama. This event was a giant leap in the way of bridging the racial gaps. But I'm not stupid, I know that there will still be those rednecks that would never want a "black" in office. And there will even be those typical blacks that will use that whole "My President is Black" excuse to why they act out. Obama has his hands full and his eyes open and only God can see into this future. But the one thing I love the most about of 44th President is MICHELLE OBAMA. She is the epitomy of the strong black female!! Yes, ma'am... At this point, Michelle is more powerful that Barack because I dont think he would've made it without her. Lets be honest people:

If you dont know what that means, look it up!!! And did ya'll see her Inaugural outfit?? She did the damn thing but I know she was COLD!!! It was like 40 degrees below life out there and she didnt look too warm to me.. But what do I know....lol

Ok, so its 2009 (like ya'll didnt know) and life is becoming more and more interesting... I mean, how many of you guys really thought that you would see a black man become president?? Or would see a movie based on the life of Christopher George Wallace a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G.?? I dont know about ya'll but I never thougtht I'd see the day..lol


Anyway, on to the blog!! So since 2009 hit, I've had a few things on my mind about some things I've seen. I mean I know what looks good to me or whatnot but I'm not so sure if others view things the same way!! Honestly, I just want your opinions on this one.... If your feeling it, hit me with a "FO SHO!!" If it is completely wrong, it me with a "HELL NO!!"... I'll do one of these everyday just to see the reactions of others..

Today's item of discussion is the February Issue Cover for Vibe Magazine... Dont get me wrong, I love Kanye but this is a horrible picture... Sorry dude, but DONT EVER NOT COMB YOUR HAIR!!! Seriously....

DIET: Spells DIE with a T

Ok, so I just had to type this up with my girl Tyondra in mind. Our generation is all tied up in what the best "diets" are and how to loose weight quick!!! Seriously folks, can we please not invest in these horrible "Loose Weight FAST" obsessions or these "Diet Pills" or anything like that??!! I mean are we so lazy that we would rather take a pill or have some surgery to loose 10 pounds instead of eating right and exercising?? Really!!! GET IT TOGETHER PEOPLE!!! I will admitt that I am a victim of wanting to loose those unwanted pounds as quickly as possible but I considered exercising FIRST!!! Taking all these uneccessary dietary products or having liposuction to get rid of 12 pounds is RIDICULOUS!!! Get serious here people. But by all means, loose weight if you feel uncomfortable.. Here's a hint: GET OFF YOUR ASS AND EXERCISE!!!!! Its not that difficult, really its not.. You just need to get motivated, have others motivating you, and have some kind of workout schedule that you can stick to!!!

And dont get me started about this celebrity "He/She is so f*ing fat!!".. Why?? Cuz they went from a size 0 to a size 5?? Or because they actually look human now?? Or is it because we idolize celebrities so much that when they gain a little weight, we're ready to crucify them!! Get over it.. Here is a picture of Jennifer Love Hewit that is floating around the internet!! The girl gained a littel weight but she is far away from "OVERWEIGHT" yet we are quick to call her out on the little "jiggle" she has going on.. GROW UP!!! People are not supposed to be rail thin nor are we supposed to judge others on their weight... Ecspecially if you are two donuts shy of being overweight your damn self!!! Get a life.....





I must say kudos to Jenny for gaining that weight, now she looks like a woman and not a Barbie Doll... I mean everybody is there own individual... Loose the weight for you not for anyone else. Lets take Oprah Winfrey for example. We all know Oprah aint missing no meals and her figure is definitely starting to show that... The only thing that bothered me about Oprah is how she went to all of these magazines with this sad attitude, talking about "How did I let this happen to me??!!" Its really simple to explain, YOU KEPT EATING!!! I mean, women of color have alot to fight against when trying to loose weight. Everything from all that good home cooking to those sweets!!! Its just soo damn hard!!! So Ms. Oprah ma'am, I feel your pain...

ITS 2009 SNITCHES!!!

Ok, so its a brand new year, with brand new things happening every 5 seconds. Seriously, think about it. Everyone has to step their games up in 2009 because there is sooo much going on in the world. With the US being in a recession, the first every Black President being inaugarated, people losing their homes and their means of survival, and with the crime rate reaching new heights, one can only wonder what will happen next. Think about it!! WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN!!! I just wish all of this craziness wasnt going on when the first Black President reaches the office. No matter how hard Obama tries to turn things around in his first 4 years, people are still going to blame him when they dont see an imidiate change.. Then we'll hear mess like, " I told you that black wasnt going to change anything!!" "We still have people that are unemployed. We still dont have to money to pay back loans or anything like that. So Obama didnt do a DAMN thing to help us!!" The sad part is that people are really going to believe this. And they are going to poison each others minds because they already dont want this black man in the office but now they're going to blame everyone else for voting him in. People suck sometimes!! Needless to say, whatever Bush thought he was doing wasnt helping and everyone knows that he's dumb!! Just to prove to you how dumb our president is and how we kept this dumb man in office for 2 consecutive terms, please watch the following video!!! I mean come on BUSH, everyone knows the old saying!!! And of course, our fearful leader couldnt even get that right!!! Way to go REPUBLICANS!!! But anyway, its a brand new year!! YOU HEAR ME!! ITS 2009 SNITCHES!!! You have to be prepared to do more, to be more, and to accomplish more this year. I must admit that I am one of those people that have a "New Years Resolution" every year and I dont make it past the first week without breaking my resolution. So in order for me to do more, I have to committ to being more!! So, I have been doing exactly that. I refuse to give in or give up!!! My daily workout is continuing, my new diet is giving me alot of energy, and my new look at life is building me up!! What can I say, I'm not one to stay down long...
