What would YOU do??

Ok, so just in case you havent been watching sports center lately, let me put you up on game. (pun intended)

On Saturday, February 28th, four footballers decided to go on a little fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico. At some point around night fall that evening, the boat that these men were commandeering lost its balance and turned over somewhere in the middle of the Gulf. Amongst the men were Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper, Detroit Lions free agent Corey Smith, former USF player William Bleakley, and former USF player Nick Schuyler. As time went pass, the families of these individuals got worried. The Coast Guards went on a search to try to recover the missing me. A day went by with no results, however, on Monday afternoon, Nick Schuyler was found hanging onto the engine of the turned over boat. Luckily for Nick, he wasnt immersed in the water and he had a lifevest on. When Schuyler was found, doctors were in fear that the remaining men, if not found, would be suffering from extensive cases of hypothermia. As Tuesday rolled around with no new results as to the whereabouts of the other three men, the Coast Guards decided to call off the search.

After the Coast Guards announced that they would have to call off the search for the missing me, the families of both Cooper and Smith decided to take matters into their own hands. Here are pictures of Corey Smith and Marquis Cooper:

So, what would you do?? As a mother? A father? A brother? A friend?
What would you do if these men were in your families? Could you stop the search?

Until next blog, remember: LIFE IS PRECIOUS!!!

I followed this story, and i was very shocked with the "limited" coverage it got. Especially from the sport networks. They would open the show with a 1.5 min update...and then go into something else! And once the search was called off, the story only lasted another day or so.. I hate to make race an issue... But wouldnt you think that if the two lost men were white...this story would have headlined every single shred of paper from any source of press/media! Im sure the NFL will do something in their memory on opening day.., but the difference in how the media handles these situations between different races is quite sad... LOVE U BOOSKI!!!
