Houston's Got Soul

Ok, so as you all know the Houston scene is drowning in major talent. I mean honestly, it's insane to me to know so many talented people. I am glad to be a witness to the wonderful things out here. This blog will be dedicated to all of the local Houston talent, those that I feel you should all know about.

Vocally:

First, I bring to you the boys of a group called Arenbe (Uh-Ren-Be). When I say these boys have talent, seriously, they have some major talent. I feel blessed to know them personally as friends and as artists. Vocally, they're beasts!!! There is no better way to put it. Arenbe consists of two fellas, Tate and Bobby, and when these boys sing, they leave a mark!! Don't let their smooth faces fool you, when they hit the stage, they put on a serious show. The very first time I heard these boys I knew that they had something special, the world needs to catch up!! Check out their myspace page listed below to hear some of their incredible music.

Next, as mentioned on the previous blog, my brother Charles of Dope Lounge is killing the music scene. To hear more about Dope Lounge, please check out my blog, Its Dope Lounge BIIIISSSHHH!!

The next person on my list is incredible. I saw her first while working at the Red Cat Jazz Cafe in downtown Houston. Her voice is simply amazing. This songstress goes by the name of Aja Domonique. She has a beautiful voice and I really dont think there is anything she CAN'T sing. I'll never forget her rendition of Lil Wayne's Lollipop, the song that made me realize she was too serious!! DO NOT SLEEP on this girl, trust me soon enough she will be hitting the main stage of some major shows.

Up next is none other than my own family, Latonya Moore. I've known her for a very long time and I have been able to witness and see her growth. She is breath taking and I am so proud of the things she is doing. With adversity and trials in her way, she has been able to overcome and press forward. Her brilliance as a singer has reached all new heights. Vocally, she is drawing attention every time she hits the stage. Although she has yet to do her own known set, she is setting her mark. When you can sing background for someone and sing better then they are, you need to be on your own stage. And that's exactly where she's headed, to the BIG STAGE!!

Last but definitely not least is my best friend, Brian Johnson a.k.a. The Artist Luv. Producing, writing, and singing is just a few things this young man is capable of and trust me the list goes on and on. Brian is set for greatness, never looking back. He is sure to surprise everyone with his talent and his skills. Be on the look out for him because he wont stop until he's made it and I'll be there, cheering him on all the way.

Musicians:

All who are mentioned above are singers, producers, and writers but lets not forget the talent behind the singers, the band!!

There are way too many musicians to name and all of them are crazy with what they do. I'm still in shock every time I hear them. Marquis (Bass Guitar), RoSean (Keys), Mike Moore (Drums), Big Ken (Bass Guitar), Big Sam (Drums), Rashard (Keys), Derrick Smith (Keys), and countless others light up the stages around Houston 7 nights a week. With talent pouring out of your finger tips, I cannot understand why these individuals aren't playing for someone major right now!! It amazes me and sometimes makes me jealous. Jealous that I can't be in their shoes, making music the way they do!!!

Houston is a place that is SWIMMING in talent and I just hate sitting back and not allowing people to witness what I get the pleasure of hearing and seeing daily. Rich Boyz and The Young Ones ENT have come together and decided to hold a major showcase to present all of these local Houston talents. Although the showcase is still in major planning, the day is soon to come. Please be on the look out for these and more because trust me, they are ALL musicians you will want to hear. I just feel very blessed to know and grow with these wonderful people and I cannot wait to see where God takes them.

Until next blog, remember: SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TALENT!!

ITS DOPE LOUNGE BIIISSSSHHH!!!

Ok, so I had to do this blog for my boy, Charles.... This boy and his group are sooo hot!!! Ladies, if you haven't heard about him, KILL YOUR SELF!!!! These boys will blow up very soon and I'm just amazed to be apart of it from the beginning. I mean they are killing the game right now.

So my boy, Charles, a.k.a. The Word Smith, is showing off all of his skills on the group album, Dope Lounge. He is singing and rapping on the cd, and proving to be a serious threat to the game. Making beats and writing lyrics is just a piece of what has formed Charles into The Word Smith. Be aware of the artistry within the project, I'm telling you, its FIRE!!! Now you know my boy couldn't just stop there, he had to put out his solo mixtape as well and let me tell you, if you thought Dope Lounge was hot, Lyrical Exercise will leave you wanting more, and more, and more!!!

I don't know about ya'll but I'm on the edge of my seat, waiting to hear more straight from the Dope Lounge..

And just for your listening pleasure, check out the Dope Lounge Myspace page at
