What's Going On??!!

Ok, so its been a little while since I wrote a blog, and thats probably not good when people are watching that!! Anyway, I need an update.. Or better yet, I need to update you!! ITs crazy in the world today.. I mean seriously, I dont know if you've been checking out the news but there's alot going on....

To start, MICHAEL JACKSON is sick.. And not that, "oh I mess with little boys" sick.. That "fool, Im about to DIE" sick.... The King of Pop is dying.. Wow, its crazy.. That poor baby is in a wheel chair cuz he is too weak to walk.. THE KING OF POP is too weak to walk.. He used to moonwalk and glide across the stage and now he can slide a pinky toe across it!! Thats wild.. Or maybe its just me but I guess all that sickness in the head (cuz we all know he was sick in the head) caught up to him!!! But damn, the King!!! He was always like Superman, but then again even Superman could get paralized... But all I can say is, POST-ITS??? Really?? Come on Mike!!! lol







And still there's more!! So, I dont know how many people are fans of Jamie Foxx but I know that I am... This boy is killing it in his latest album Intuition!! Like, If you havent heard it or bought it, you are really trippin!! I had to get it cuz his last album was insane so I knew this one was gonna be bananas and that's exactly what it is!!! BANANAS!!! I mean its one of those that you just put on and let it play cuz every track is sick!! From Blame It, to Slow, to Rainman, its just crazy... It shows Jamie in the form we all love him in, that slick R&B guy with a funny side. Now if you are reading this then you have been jamming some of my favorites off this new ablum!!! Jamie is getting overlooked so dont sleep on him, go out and get this CD!!!!

More than meets the Eye: Taraji P. Henson

Ok, so we all know this face from Hustle and Flow, and from her role in Baby Boy but do we really know Taraji P. Henson?? I mean seriously, after seeing her typecast as the hood guys girlfriend, did you ever think that this chick has what it takes to make it big?? Well, if you didnt, just like many others didnt, Taraji is putting all that hating to shame because she is definitely doing it BIG!!! I mean HUGE!! This beautiful actress is proving herself to be a powerhouse in the box office. After landing major roles in 2007's Talk to Me and Smokin Aces, we only wanted to see more of her!! And thats exactly what she gave us. More drama and more Taraji!! She took on Tyler Perry's A Family that Prey's where she co-starred along side one of my favorite actresses, Sanaa Lathan. And trust me when I say that Henson definitely held her own!! I have to admitt that I never saw it coming. I didnt think she had the range to do so much with motion pictures but she shut me up real quick. Her greatest accomplishment is coming in the form a different role for her. She landed one of the lead roles in this years The Curious Case of Benjamin Button where she stars alongside Brad Pitt and in this years Not Easily Broken, where she is once again alongside a fine actor, Morris Chestnut!! Calm down ladies...lol

Poets Corner!!

Ok, so I have decided to showcase a special poet every week!!! Lol, I just wanted to dip into the minds of a few great poets out there. I must say I can dabble a little bit in the world of words. So, I felt the need to pay close attention to these poets because they do what they do best all the time!!! Its amazing to me to see how people can form these wonderful poems straight off the dome. Its crazy and the talent that is revealed is amazing. So, before I start bringing in a few local poets out of the Houston circut, I'm leading off with a few of my own favorites.

The FINALE

Ok, so its about that time scholars. Finals are coming and going which means one thing, WINTER BREAK!!! Hell yeah, winter break. That means, we are about to embark on a month long vaction, receving gifts and bringing in the new year!! And what a wonderful thing, GIFTS!! If you are currently in a relationship, what are you getting your girlfriend/boyfriend for Christmas?? Cologne, Perfume, clothes, shoes, tickets to events, what?? Im lost because I have no idea what to get my man for Christmas. He's one of those guys that its hard to buy for cause I want to get him alot of things but my budget wont allow that.. So I need some insight.. FELLAS, what would YOU want your girl to get you?? And LADIES what would YOU want your man to get you?? I need some ideas.

Anyway, good luck on finals to all that are still in school and if you are graduating this December, CONGRATS!!! To those of us that will still be in school next semester, have fun over the break and be prepared for what 2009 will have to offer each one of us!!

THEY FINALLY GOT O.J.!!!

Ok, so as you all know, the infamous O.J. Simpson has been back on trial. I just dont even know what to say. I mean, damn O.J. The judge let you off once and completely upset all of white american and then your dumbass goes back infront of the judge!! Man, he should've known then that his life as a free man would be over. The judge sentenced O.J. to 33 years in prison with no chance for parole. They might as well have given that fool LIFE!! But what made matters worse is that the broken and battered Simpson apologized to the judge while fighting back tears. Simpathy wont work sir!! THEY GOT YOU!! I know he has to be thinking, "Damn, they really got me like they said they would".. I just dont know. There cant be one unhappy white person in america right now. You know they are all just jumping with joy, on the inside, cuz they dont want us(black people) to know that they're happy. But them fools is happy as hell!! I mean he was acquitted in 1994 and you would think that that dude would have learned to stay out of trouble but nope!! Not Mr. Football man!! Not O.J., I DIDNT DO IT, Simpson... This nigga got arrested AGAIN!! On some dumb stuff that he shouldnt have been doing in the first place.

Seriously, what old ass 61 year old man do you know that would be out, stealing his own shit?? Listen up, O.J. WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED FOR STEALING HIS OWN SHIT!!! Its funny as hell but just so not funny. He just had to give white people another reason to put his ass away. And thats exactly what they are doing. I sat up and watched the news as they took O.J. to the courtroom thoughout the trial. He had this look on his face, everyday, of disbelief. Like he couldnt understand what was going on. I dont think that fool even realized that they were about to put him away FOR LIFE!! I mean, if the jury can convict you after 13 days, yes 13 DAYS, and put you away for 33 years, you should've known then that this was real. But nope, not O.J., not Mr.. I used to play professional Football. This fool waited until the day of his sentencing to plead for sympathy from the judge. I guess he thought Jonnie Cochran was going to show up and save the day. News Flash O.J.: JONNIE IS DEAD!!! He cant save you again!!! But I feel bad that another black man is going to die in prison. Its a horrible thing for our race but when you have smart ones like O.J. Simpson, you cant help but to shake your head. This dude was trippin on some other OTHER stuff. Not to mention the fact that he just had to write a book called If I Did It. Are you serious Mr. Simpson? That right there basically let everyone know that you are dumb as all outdoors. You must've said to yourself, "Well, they didnt convict me so I might as well tell the true in a book and see what happens. But I'll title it If I Did It so it wont sound like I really did do it. Yeah, that's what I'll do". And unfortunately for this fool, his voice didnt talk back and say, "NIGGA IS YOU STUPID??!!" Well, thats it for Brother Orange Juice. Hopefully, he learns his lesson for the next time.. Oh wait, HE'S IN PRISON FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE FOR STEALING HIS OWN SHIT!!

Little Miss Rihanna!!

Ok, so I dont know what it is but lately Rihanna has been doing the damn thang!! Honestly, I was really never a big fan. And her voice, in some songs, was just down right annoying. Not to mention that big ass forehead!!! Ha, but in all seriousness, she is maturing into a mega star. Now, she is still no Beyonce but she might be able to kick Solange off a stage or two. And it helps that she decided to pick up Mr. Chris Brown as her main dish..(kudos to you girl) So, I feel like she is coming into her own, finally. It was a struggle for a while though. Cuz honestly, how many people can say they really enjoyed S.O.S?? And Umbrella wasnt all that!! But the remix with her sexy yellow-bone was kind of hott!! But she kicked it up with her latest album Good Girls Gone Bad. Even the re-release was hot!! I mean, I wasnt a big fan of Disterbia when I heard it the first time, but I will say that the video was ridiculous!! I loved that song just because of the craziness in the video. You could see her growth, her maturity, her sexuality, she shed a few inches off the hair line and showed the world that big forehead females can still rock the short cut (I should know!!)... Not to mention the outfits!! I had to do mad research because Rihanna's outfits are crazy. Baby girl can dress or should I say her people can dress her. From the short cut, to the full red lips, to the tatooes, to the outfits, and all the way to the shoes, she's got it!!

Ok, so the man of the hour is non other than Jay-Z. He is newly married, still killing the game and is turning 39. That's right, that dude turned 39 today. I guess the next thing he'll be saying is 40 is the new 30... hahaha, naw but on the cool, thats my dude. I love me some Jay-Z (dont be mad B) and that boy got a bad mouthpiece. I mean with people in the game like Kanye, Lil Wayne, Common, even T.I.; you kind of have no choice but to have a killer ass mouthpiece and you better believe that HOVA got it. I mean for a cat that leaves the game, stacks his money, grabs the hottest girl in the game, and makes a crazy comeback, you know he has a strong Swagger!! To you sir, I bow my head. You are doing it real big to end out the year and no one knows the half. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIGGA!!!

All We Need is a Good Laugh...

Ok, so my dude Kat Williams came out with another stand up called "Its Pimpin Pimpin". Now dont get me wrong, he will never top the Pimp Chronicles, in my book, but I thought it was pretty funny. I sat up and watched it with my boyfriend, who is also a huge Kat Williams fan, until we were blue in the face. That fool is crazy funny. Everything about that dude cracks me up, from the way he talks right down to the way he does his hair. Kat Williams proved himself to me as Money Mike in The Friday after Next with Mike Epps and Ice Cube. After landing that huge showstopping role, he became one of the most dominant characters on Nick Cannon's WildN Out. I dont care what anyone says, this fool took over the show. He did his thing commically and let everyone know that he was made for the big screen. Kat has one of those personalities that enitces you and makes you want more. He puts you at the edge of your seat, just waiting to see what funny shit he'll say!! And I'll admit, that I will watch The Friday After Next, First Sunday, and Pimp Chronicles over and over again as if it were the first time. What can I say, that little dude is funny. His comedic style is just hilarious and its the voice. That high-pitched, scratchy, pimp-like voice is funny as hell. And lets not forget his role as the cartoon A Pimp Named Slickback. HAHAHA!!! Just saying that name is funny. Not Mr. Slickback or Mr. A Pimp, you gotta say the whole thing, A PIMP NAMED SLICKBACK!!!

I gotta give it up to Jamie Foxx, Martin Lawrence, Eddie Griffin, Dave Chappelle, Eddie Murphy, Mo'Nique, Sommore, Mick Epps, J. Anthony Brown, John Witherspoon, Chris Tucker, Chris Rock, and so many others. I mean, without this comedy, we would really be boring people that cant seem to laugh at ourselves. I was reading one of my friends blogs and he had one of the funniest clips from Jamie Foxx on his blog. I cant even tell you but if you dont already know, you never will!!! HAHA, think on that one..
